Change a Child’s Life

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

To help change a child’s life is an honor and an exciting responsibility!  We are asking for your donation to enable this process.  We only have APPROXIMATELY 48 HOURS to complete the demonstrated need for our financial aid campers.  Please consider a gift of an ALC summer to some of the most amazing ALC campers ever!   Perhaps there are other ALCers or ALC families who might like to help, so please share this information and let’s hope that our applicants will bask in the Maine sun with lifetime friends and experiences that change these campers’ lives forever.

What can YOU do? YOU CAN:

  • Make a check payable to the American Camp Association for any amount you’d like to give, put the name Alford Lake Camp in the memo section of your check, and mail it to us at our winter office address (see below).

  • Using the FORWARD button at the bottom of this email spread the word to as many friends of ALC that you know of!

Lancaster PA – Parent Coffee & Gathering!

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

This year Alford Lake Camp has begun meeting with camp parents and their friends, over a cup of coffee (or tea), to discuss the many issues facing parents today, how camp supports their efforts, and strategies we can all use in the face of challenge. Join us on January 29th, at the home of Rod and Abby (BASH) Messick’s in Lancaster, PA,  at 9:30 am for a parent coffee – bring a friend or two!

The SAME DAY at 6:30pm we are having an ALC Gathering (again, at the Messick’s!). Come on all you PA ALCers past and present! Grab some friends and come see our video from camp last summer, spend time talking with old friends and new, and laugh!

We hope to see a lot of ALCers in Lancaster, PA this month!!
