Matt - OOCT 011

“By the numbers: we hiked 27 miles. On the day of our summit, we woke at 4:00 A.M. and hiked 10.5 miles. We ate 4.5 lbs of cheese and more
gorp than one should dare to consume.  Such cuisine propelled us up the Dudley trail, over the Knife’s Edge, and down the first 5.5 miles of the
Appalachian Trail with an arrival at tthe Katahdin Stream Campground at 7:15P.M.” – Matthew Hamilton, Trip Leader

Yesterday, on a  glorious Maine afternoon, an ALC summer tradition took place:  “Swim Across The Lake”!!!
50 Campers and Counselors swam over a mile – from the far edge of Alford Lake to ALC’s beach.
What an AWESOME event…. Each swimmer was welcomed to shore by the cheers of their fellow ALCers.
Swimmers, from our youngest Rangers to our oldest Guides, as well as our  Jr.CTs, completed this challenge
after preparing all summer long with our  fantastic swim instructors. We could n0t be more proud of all our campers!!!!
