Creating a place for ALC Parents
“Soooooo, as parent, how can we use this ALC Blog?”, was a question asked of me by an enthusiastic alum as we sat in her living room and talked of her children.
“Can I write in and ask how I can get my child to get himself dressed in the morning so that we can make it to school on time OR can I write in and ask how I can get my other son to try new foods without forcing him to eat since he eats only Cheerios basically? I just think back to pre-camp training and remember the things that we learned then I could be using now. I know how much I trust ALC and all the information that we shared when we were surrogate parents each summer. Oh, how I would like to be able to just hear possible solutions and ask parenting questions and be answered in the same spirit that we gained our experience and knowledge way back when.”
So let’s create this blog as a safe place to ask questions, share experiences and LOVE our job as a parent as it is THE biggest honor we can share. Let’s begin blog/chatting – blatting, in ALC terms!!!
