They awakened in the morning to the sound of a bugle blowing softly in the distance. There was a strange feeling of excitement in the air as it was the last few days before the Soviets were scheduled to arrive. Tents expecting them were making last minute welcoming signs as the July day slowly wore on. It became very hot and humid but as the afternoon and evening hours approached the sun died down and a cool wind blew. After an amazing day the campers fell asleep to the crying sound of the bugle blowing once again in the distance.

Yes! There was the sound of Reveille again echoing through the tents. We hurried to get dressed and then down to the washhouse we went. The five minute warming bell soon rang and we were told to bring rain gear up the hill…. After breakfast the riders were excused first…. Some of the older campers went to the crafthouse for sculpting…. We had a party and danced the polka and the ace of spades. After dinner the people in the play went to rehearse. The play was a Greek Myth presented in shadow form. It was very well done and we all really enjoyed it. After the play we went to our tents and got into bed to wait for Taps. As Taps sounded we snuggled into our beds with happy thoughts of what a fun day it had been.
