Our Heroes!

Soooooo, parents, have you had the opportunity to play Guitar Hero with your kids? Have they sung with you, ‘rocked out’ with you and taught you the intricacies of hitting all the notes while you sway to the fast paced beat?
I have to tell you that you can work up a sweat AND let the music to take you back to your generation while still being a cool rock star ☺ I have enjoyed my moments with my kids down in the basement as they cheered me on (and probably were subtly embarrassed at how I REALLY got into the rhythm). It did take me a 12 hour trip to Virginia Beach to revel in this action with Caroline Bisi, Betsy Brayley, Dylan Souter and Barrett McMullan.
Fun? Yup; uncontrollable laughter? Yup AND just silly time together – Yup. Let me give you a hint: start with your favorite decade of songs and set the difficulty level to ‘easy’. #1 you’ll know the tune, #2 it is slow enough for your kids to be impressed because you’ll look like you know what you are doing and #3 you will work up a sweat more gradually. Enjoy, have fun, laugh lots and remember there are ways to ‘stay current’ without TOTALLY sacrificing our ‘maturity’. Have a fun week and stay tuned for our next blog on parental interaction right here on the ALC screen.
