New Roles for Page and Whitney!

Alford Lake Camp is happy to share that longtime ALCers Whitney McMullan and Page Fairman Rich have enthusiastically accepted new leadership roles on our year round team. Both of these women have grown up at Alford Lake as campers, CTs, Counselors, and Key Leaders. While most ALCers know both Whitney and Page, here is a little bit more about each of them:

In addition to being our Mental Health Coordinator, a position Whitney has held for the last three summers, she will also now be an Assistant Director. Whitney grew up at ALC as a Morale Booster, Camper, CT, and Counselor. She taught both Riding and Swimming at ALC, and she was also the Head of Swimming and a Junior CT Leader. Whitney created camp programs including the SOAR program, formalized goal setting for Junior CTs, and the Peer Mentor position. Whitney holds a BA in Psychology from Drew University, and a MSW from Columbia University. She currently maintains a psychotherapy private practice as an LCSW in Brooklyn, NY, and is mom to two enthusiastic elementary school-aged children, who are both Morale Boosters during the summer. Whitney’s favorite spots in camp are the Farmhouse steps at sunset and the Swimming docks.

Page will now be our Director of Communications and Marketing, and because of her love of teaching sailing, she will continue to teach sailing on and off throughout the summer. Most recently, Page has been an Assistant to the Directors, Head of Program, and Head of Sailing. She was a Camper, CT, and Counselor, and then spent summers as the Head of Sailing, Swimming, and the Waterfront. Page holds a BA in Music and History from Trinity College, CT, and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College. She currently serves on the American Camp Association - New England (ACANE) Board of Directors, is a member of the ACANE Standards Committee, and is an Accreditation Visitor for the American Camp Association. Page’s children are both now in high school, and they have grown up as campers at ALC and Agawam. Page also teaches Music at Berwick Academy. Her favorite spot in camp is out sailing on the lake!

Page and Whitney have grown up together in camp. As Counselors, they spent time working closely together in Swimming, and in more recent years have teamed up again as part of ALC’s leadership team. They are both excited to be accepting new challenges and opportunities through these new roles in camp, and they are committed to continuing ALC’s tradition of providing each camper and counselor with opportunities for growth and fun.
